What is lu.ly?
lu.ly a browser extension that brings real-time facebook and twitter updates into your browser. Lu.ly lets you see friends' twitter and facebook stream via scrolling text within the browser, as those updates happen. In addition to viewing your friends' activities, lu.ly enables you to update your own facebook status or tweet, no matter where they are on the web. lu.ly also supports shortening and sharing URLs using the lu.ly domain.

We introdused lu.ly for folks like us that love to stay up to date with what their friends are doing, but don't want to have to always keep facebook and twitter open on their desktop. By bringing updates right into the browser, lu.ly makes it easy to always stay connected with your friends, no matter what you are surfing on the web.
How do I download lu.ly?
Internet Explorer:
Step 1) Click "Add to Browser"

Step 2) Click "Run"

Step 3) Click “Run” again

Step 4) Click “Agree”

Firefox:
Step 1) Click “Add to Browser”

Step 2) Click “Allow”

Step 3) Click “Install”

Step 4) Click “Restart Firefox”

Safari:
Step 1) Click “Add to Browser”

Step 2) Click “Run”

Step 3) Click “Run” again

How do I use the lu.ly?
Getting started with lu.ly is easy. First, download the toolbar at http://lu.ly (see directions above). Second, connect to either facebook, twitter, or both.
To connect to facebook:
Step 1) Click the facebook icon in the browser

Step 2) Enter facebook user name & password and click “login”

To connect to twitter:
Step 1) Click the twitter icon in the browser

Step 2) Enter twitter user name & password and click “Allow”

Do you support Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari?
Yes, we support the latest versions of all three browsers.
Do I need to pay for the lu.ly?
No, lu.ly is and will forever be a free service; we earn revenue only when Google’s sponsored search results are clicked.

Does lu.ly download any sort of Spyware or Adware?
Never! lu.ly DOES NOT install any sort of Malware of any kind.
Does lu.ly track any information related to my browsing habits including the websites I am visiting?
We would NEVER do that. To repeat, lu.ly does not spy on your browsing habits in any way.
Does lu.ly run any pop-up/under advertisements?
We DON’T do that either. lu.ly does not enable pop-up/under or other intrusive ads of any kind.
Does lu.ly rent or sell any personal information?
Nope, lu.ly will never rent or sell any of your personal information.

How do I hide the lu.ly toolbar?
Internet Explorer: In the Browser menu, click “View” --> “Toolbars” --> uncheck “lu.ly Toolbar”
Firefox: In the Browser menu, click “View” --> “Toolbars” --> uncheck “lu.ly Toolbar”
I downloaded, the lu.ly, why don’t I see it in my browser?
If you have already downloaded the lu.ly but do not see it loaded in your browser, please try the following:
1) Please close all browsing windows and then reopen a new browser.
2) Make sure your browser is configured to allow a third party toolbar. To enable this feature:
Step 1) At the top Internet Explorer menu, click 'Tools' and select 'Internet Options'
Step 2) On the resulting window, click the 'Advanced' tab
Step 3) Under 'Browsing', make sure there is a “check mark” in the box next to 'Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)'. If there is no check in this box, please click on it to check it, then close and re-open your Internet Explorer browser.
3) Try enabling the toolbar through your browser's menu. To do this:
Step 1) At the top Internet Explorer menu, click ‘View’ and select ‘Toolbars’
Step 2) Make sure there is a check mark next to ‘lu.ly’
NOTE: If the toolbar does have a check mark but is not visible on your browser, clear the check mark by clicking on the name of the toolbar. Then repeat the steps above to re-enable it. The toolbar should now appear.
Why does the download process ends prematurely or I get a blank screen, when trying to download?
Try changing your security settings to ‘Medium’ by following these directions:
Step 1) Go to your browser menu and select ‘Tools’
Step 2 ) Select ‘Internet Options’
Step 3) Go to the ‘Security tab’ and click the ‘Custom Level’ button then choose ‘Medium Safety’ under ‘Software channel permissions’ and click "OK"
How do I uninstall my lu.ly?
Follow these directions if you have Internet Explorer
Step 1) From your computer's 'Start' button, select 'Settings', then 'Control Panel'
Step 2) Double-click on 'Add/Remove Programs' for Windows XP or 'Programs and Features' for Windows Vista
Step 3) Select lu.ly and click 'Remove'.
Step 4) You must reboot your computer to completely remove the toolbar.
Follow these directions if you have Firefox Browser
Step 1) From your browser’s Menu, select ‘Tools’, then ‘add-ons’
Step 2) Select “lu.ly” and click ‘uninstall’
Step 3) You must reboot your computer to completely remove the toolbar.
Follow these directions if you have Safari
Step 1) Enter the Applications folder in Finder
Step 2) Enter the "Toolbars" folder
Step 3) Enter the "lu.ly" folder
Step 4) Run Uninstall
